Our goals for this week were to: conduct further ux testing, assemble siding, mockup canvas, install mounting, and install shell with base.
Overall we finished the mounting, conducted UX testing, and began to assemble the siding. Next week, we will finish the siding and install the roof/shell with the base.
Our UX testing taught us a lot about our design and instruction booklet. After some testing we found that the screw hole concept was a bit complex so we actually developed a chart to make installation easier. We then took the instruction booklet through a whole other iteration of improvements.
For our UX testing the individual had a Subaru Outback which was within our target market of cars. We helped them lift the unit on their car and then we observed how intuitive the rest of the process was for them. We learned that the mounting brackets might be a bit complex but with some instruction they are doable. The user remarked that it was lighter than other models they have seen/used. They also really liked our drawer slides.
